The Babraham Institute Sixth Form Conference is an opportunity for young people with an interest in life sciences to step into the role of a scientist and experience a taste of an academic conference. For 2022, the theme of the conference was Healthy Ageing, to reflect a key focus of the Institute’s research. Around 100 people attended, from a geographical range spanning Peterborough to London, to hear from Institute scientists and those working for companies based on the Babraham Research Campus.
The event included a Design Competition, inviting students to submit either an academic poster or an art piece reflecting the conference's theme. Many entries to the competition can be viewed in the Design Competition booklet.
This event typically takes place in November or December and is for students in Year 12 (or equivalent) and above, their teachers and their parents or carers. You can read more about the 2022 conference in our blog.
