I grew up in Essex, and completed my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Bath. I also completed a yearlong research placement at the University of Bath investigating a stem cell signalling pathway implicated in adult pigment stem cell differentiation in zebrafish.
My work in Maria’s lab will focus on protein citrullination, particularly on histone tails, with the goal of identifying novel reader proteins of this mark and how it interacts with other neighbouring epigenetic marks in a stem cell context. I am part of the BBSRC CTP PhD programme, where I will have the opportunity to work with Cell Guidance Systems, a commercial company on the Babraham Research Campus, and utilise their expertise in protein delivery systems. Outside of the lab I enjoy running, going to the gym and playing chess.
