Mo studied Medicine and Surgery at Alexandria University in Egypt. For his doctoral training he joined the laboratories of Prof. Kathryn Lilley and Prof. Anne Willis at the University of Cambridge, where he has gained expertise in the development of cutting-edge methodology to profile RNA, proteins and RNA-bound proteomes in different cellular compartments. Mo is interested in understanding how cellular stress relates to the decline in immune function observed with age.
As a postdoc in the Ribeiro de Almeida lab, Mo investigates how RNA-binding proteins control B cell developmental transitions and their differentiation into antibody secreting cells.
